BigPay aims to revolutionize the financial services industry by offering a comprehensive and user-friendly mobile application. As a Senior Product Designer, I played a pivotal role in ensuring the BigPay app delivers an exceptional user experience. The app needed to be intuitive, secure, and efficient, catering to users' financial management needs.
Why is the team devoting time to this project?
BigPay’s goal is to provide users with a seamless and efficient way to manage their finances. The app needed enhancements to address several critical areas:
- User Experience: Previous versions had usability issues that needed addressing to ensure a smooth user journey.
- Security: With financial data involved, the app required robust security measures.
- Performance: Ensuring the app is responsive and reliable, especially under heavy usage.
- Scalability: As BigPay’s user base grows, the app must handle increased loads without compromising performance.

We developed the BigPay app from scratch, working closely with the product and development teams. Here are the key highlights of our journey:

Workflow:
- Research and Analysis: Conducted comprehensive user research to identify pain points and gather insights. Defined problems and compiled materials to inform design decisions.
- Brainstorming and Problem Solving: Collaborated with team members to brainstorm solutions, ensuring alignment with stakeholders’ requests and the product team’s vision.
- Development Planning: Planned backend and frontend development, UI/UX design, and overall product experience before project initiation.
- Timeline Management: Set and adhered to timelines, using scrum techniques to efficiently launch features.
- Design and Prototyping: Wireframed, designed, implemented, and monitored prototypes, creating functional and visually appealing design concepts.
- Follow-Up: Maintained constant communication with the team to monitor progress, made quick decisions to resolve issues, and conducted product testing to measure performance.
- Product Launch: Planned and executed product launches, ensuring all visual updates, communications, and follow-ups were completed.
- Continuous Improvement: Reviewed lessons learned, planned future features and improvements, and maintained follow-ups with stakeholders, users, and bug fixes.
Additional Contributions
Beyond the primary scope of my role, I also:
- Assisted Product Managers: Worked on persquad requirements to ensure all product needs were met efficiently.
- Data Analysis: Analyzed user data to provide actionable insights, helping refine the app’s design and functionality.
