Background 🖼
Zenyum is dedicated to bringing more smiles to its customers through innovative dental products. My role as a Senior Product Designer involved ensuring that Zenyum's app delivers a seamless and delightful user experience. The app needed to be intuitive, reliable, and efficient, particularly as it deals with sensitive customer data and essential dental treatment processes.
Why is the team devoting time to this project?
Zenyum's mission to democratize access to dental care means the app must cater to a wide audience with varying levels of tech-savviness. The app needed an overhaul to address the following challenges:
- User Experience: Previous versions had usability issues that could deter less tech-savvy users.
- Performance: The app had to be quick and responsive, ensuring users can access their information and support without delays.
- Data Management: With sensitive personal and medical data involved, the app had to ensure top-notch data security and reliability.
- Scalability: As Zenyum expands its customer base, the app must handle increasing loads without compromising performance.
Goals 🎯
- Enhance User Experience: Make the app more intuitive and user-friendly.
- Improve Performance: Ensure fast loading times and smooth navigation.
- Ensure Data Security: Implement robust security measures to protect user data.
- Scalable Design: Create a design that can grow with Zenyum’s expanding user base.
- Centralized Information: Provide a single source of truth for all user and treatment data.
- Streamlined Workflow: Make it easier for users to navigate their treatment journey.
Zenyum App Progress 📊
We built the Zenyum app from scratch, collaborating closely with the product and development teams. Here are the highlights of our journey from inception to the latest version:
Project Owner: Kamilia Fauzi
People working on the project: 3 People
Workflow:
- Research and Analysis: Conducted extensive user research to understand pain points and gather insights. Defined problems and gathered materials to inform design decisions.
- Brainstorming and Problem Solving: Collaborated with teammates to brainstorm solutions, ensuring alignment with stakeholders’ requests and the product team’s vision.
- Development Planning: Strategized backend and frontend development, UI/UX design, and overall product experience before initiating the project.
- Timeline Management: Set and adhered to timelines, using scrum techniques to launch features efficiently.
- Design and Prototyping: Wireframed, designed, implemented, and monitored prototypes, creating functional and visually appealing design concepts.
- Follow-Up: Maintained constant communication with the team to monitor progress, made quick decisions to resolve issues, and conducted product testing to measure performance.
- Product Launch: Planned and executed product launches, ensuring all visual updates, communications, and follow-ups were completed.
- Continuous Improvement: Reviewed lessons learned, planned future features and improvements, and maintained follow-ups with stakeholders, users, and bug fixes.
Clinic Cloud: Internal Platform
In addition to the Zenyum app, I worked on Clinic Cloud, an internal platform that facilitates communication between internal employees, customer service, and both external and internal doctors. This platform allows staff to view patient appointments and update required services seamlessly.
Clinic Cloud Features:
- Communication: Streamlines interactions between customer service and medical professionals.
- Appointment Management: Provides an efficient way to view and manage patient appointments.
- Service Updates: Ensures all required services are updated in real-time, enhancing operational efficiency.
Impact and Results
The Zenyum app and Clinic Cloud platform have significantly improved user experience, operational efficiency, and data management. Each project phase was meticulously documented to ensure transparency and facilitate continuous improvement.
